Caring for students who have unique needs.

Transit offers special programming for students with special needs. We want to help them develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Our trained volunteers serve students in our room just for those who need special one-on-one care, and they also assist students in our large group environment. Our hope is that Transit will be a place your child will love to visit on Sundays.

Where is the special needs program?

The special needs room is located in the Attic along with the other Transit small group rooms. The room is equipped with trained volunteers and includes many unique features built for the needs of our students.

What types of special needs do you accomodate?

Our goal is to accommodate any student who wants to attend Transit. We have students who range from high-functioning autistic to wheelchair-bound.

Can students still attend worship?

Yes! Students who are able will travel to worship with a volunteer.

What does the special needs curriculum look like?

We create several versions of the weekly curriculum to accommodate students with a range of abilities.

What ages are allowed in the special needs room?

While Transit is for middle schoolers (6th–8th grade), we also allow students who are high school-aged to come to the special needs room on Sunday mornings.

What time is the special needs program offered?

Transit special needs is offered at the same times as Transit: 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
