Thank you for your interest in serving with MoneyWise.
MoneyWise is a ministry that works with participants to help them understand God's principles of money management, transform the way they use money, and develop a plan for their finances. We have two MoneyWise leadership opportunities: mentoring and leading a group.
MoneyWise mentoring pairs a participant with a mentor to work through a structured curriculum using Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover. The mentor will provide guidance in key areas, such as budgeting, saving, and giving.
MoneyWise groups meet for nine weeks and have approximately ten participants per group. Groups follow along with Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. Group leaders facilitate discussion, help answer questions, and encourage participants to take steps toward financial freedom, regardless of their situations.
Because the role of the MoneyWise leader carries many opportunities for influence, we are intentional about selecting individuals who are spiritually mature and emotionally and relationally healthy.
The requirements for becoming a MoneyWise mentor are:
- You are pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- You recognize the Bible as the authority for your life.
- You have the time, emotional capacity, and moral discernment to lead.
If you meet the above requirements, the next steps are as follows:
Application: If you're interested in becoming a MoneyWise leader, begin the application process. You will be asked to include references.
Interview: After your application is complete, you will be contacted for an interview with the MoneyWise staff.
Training: We offer new leader training three to four times a year. The new leader trainings are held in the evening over two consecutive weeks. It provides the skills and knowledge needed to mentor individuals with competence and care. Additionally, ongoing training is provided three to four times a year to ensure that you are receiving current and relevant information to equip you to effectively help others.
